For many craft bloggers or site owners, the idea of digging into their HTML code is a very scary thought. This is justified to an extent because it’s not a good idea to mess it up!
However, as long as you remember the golden rule, you can do this:

Golden Rule: Always create a backup of your HTML before you edit it.

Other than that, remember that if you don’t try, you won’t learn anything. I think the w3Schools site is the most useful site on the web for understanding HTML. I have been using it since it started (more years ago than I want to admit!) Don’t be too afraid to try things out. Learn HTML first and then move on to CSS for getting the right look and feel for your site. If you have created a test blog or site then you can edit to your heart’s content and know that you can always reset it back using your backup.
