Add your blog to CraftCrave

There are two main reasons why you might want to add your blog (or other feed) to CraftCrave:

  1. It is essentially a free advertising service, so if you would like to get more visitors, then sites like CraftCrave are a good way to achieve this.
  2. Every link to your blog/site increases its “importance” in the sight of search engines, so if this is important to you then listing is a good idea.

So how do you get listed? Make sure your blog conforms to the listing requirements, and if it does then you can add it using the steps below.

Listing Requirements:
The requirements to be listed here are the following:

  1. Your blog must lists items which fall into a category which is listed here, such as digital scrapbooking freebies. Blogs containing free items which are not included in the existing categories will not be listed.  However if you think there should be a new category then do let me know.
  2. Your blog must not contain material unsuitable for viewing by children. Pictures or photos of people or characters should be wearing clothes which cover their torso including the cleavage. My standards are higher than most so if you have pictures (photos or cartoons) of people showing lots of skin or tight fitting tops on girls with Dolly Parton style breasts I will not add the blog to CraftCrave. If I wouldn’t want my 5 year old to see it, it won’t get listed.  If I get a content warning from either Google or McCafee Site Advisor I will not even look at the blog.
  3. Make sure your blog contains your work, not someone else’s.  This site is for content producers, and so if you don’t produce your own content I will not add your site.  For example, to be listed in the DigiFree category, if you write about other people’s freebies and do not produce your own then your blog won’t be listed.
  4. Make sure that if you are offering freebies, they really are free.  That is, the system will not identify blog posts which say things like “free with purchase” or “leave a comment with your email address and I’ll send you the freebie” or “follow my blog and I’ll send you this freebie” etc.

If your blog doesn’t meet the requirements, please don’t submit your blog because it won’t be added.

Getting Listed:

Step 1: Before you do anything else, check to see if you are already listed! You might be pleasantly surprised that I’ve been sending people your way already :-) Search for your blog name (remove the http://) using the “Search This Site” item on the menubar at the top of this page on the right.  If you find your blog, the system knows about your site.  If you have been listed before but are no longer, then you should read my listing policy above which you might have violated.

Step 2: Check your blog feed. Your feed must be set to FULL; this is extremely important because that’s all the system can see. If your blog doesn’t show up, please read the requirements above carefully.

Step 3: Add your site using the small form on the sidebar. Please only submit your blog once.You can also add your freebies to CraftCrave.net which is the sister site for this one, which has all the same items and more. The difference with that site is that you can add your own content, vote on other content, network with other crafters, connect your items to Facebook and search for items much more effectively. The system updates both sites, and if you join CraftCrave.net then make sure you enter your id in the submission form – when I add your blog to the system, I will also add this user ID and then all your items will be listed as posted by you, so you can update or correct them yourself.

Note:

  • If you have already joined CraftCrave.net, enter your user ID so the system can add items under your ID (and then you can modify them). The username MUST EXIST for this to work.
  • I add blogs approximately once a week, mostly on the weekend when I have time to catch up on this. But this is a hobby, and I have a full-time job and a family. So please be patient.
  • This only works for blogs, not ordinary web sites. Your site must have a proper RSS feed for this to work.  If it is faulty (e.g., it has no date stamp) then I can’t list it. But you can always add your items to CraftCrave.net yourself.
  • Once your site is known to the system it will remain on the system – you don’t need to fill this in again (unless your blog went down for a long time and is back up again).
  • If you don’t appear on CraftCrave within a few weeks of adding your blog using the form, your blog does not conform to the instructions/FAQ so please re-read it. Because so many people add their blogs a system processes this list, so if it doesn’t find freebies or if it does find banned keywords it will ignore your blog. I process this list approximately once per week.

    Hello!!

    I have an account at CraftCrave.net and I can’t access it. I activated it and I submitted an item. I can search and find that item, but I can’t log in no matter what I do. I know I have the right password, but I’ve requested it (reset) about 6 times and haven’t gotten that either. My user name is The_OK_Schoolhouse and the addy I used is the same one for this comment. I’d appreciate any help in this matter!! Also, I submitted my blog to be listed here, so I hope that works!!

            Oh Maria, I feel like such a pain!! I tried again and it told me wrong user name or password, so I requested my password reset. This time I actually got it and went back to the site to use it. Even when I use the password that comes with the reset, it tells me wrong user name or password. I see that it listed my newest post, so my feeds are going through, I just can’t log in.

            Should we just delete this account and start over?? I don’t want to cause you any more work. I’ll do whatever you need because I know this must be frustrating. It is picking up my feeds, so it’s not all bad….I just can’t add or update anything!! HAHA

    I know that the program you are using is computer generated. Is there a better way for me to put my weekely freebie up on my blog that will help your program pick it up? I’ve noticed that my blog freebie is noyt showing and I think this is he third week in a row? Not sure about that just a guess.

      Hi Brenda. Yes, the system has to try to work out which image is the freebie and it’s not easy! But if you use a word like freebie in the title for the image it’s almost 99.9% likely the system will chose that one (but just make sure it’s the only one with that word in it).

    This is SnowRavyn and i left a few messages on here last nite and they have since been deleted as they are not on here anywhere and i never got any response from any of my questions….i am a member of craft crave.net but for some reason i can not log in as it says my IP has been marked as spam…I even tried starting a new account with a dif user name and even tried using my facebook to sign up but still to no avail as it always says my IP has been marked as spam…Now i bought my personal domain from blooger this week and would love to add it on here and would love to be able to sign up with craftcrave.net again….I love craft crave as i think its an awesome place to get ur blogs noticed…I dont know what i am doin wrong and am not a spammer by any means….i am not trying to be a pain either, i am sorry if i come accross as that….i am just at odds as to why it says my IP has been marked as spam as i have done nothing wrong except try to get my password reset a few times and tried doin another new acount…which is probably why my IP has been marked as spam…if so then please forgive me and if possible could i please get my IP reset so i can sign up again….thanks so much in advance for all ur help…

    I am having problems with craftcrave.net
    whenever i sign in i can not see the pictures the wording or anything,
    the whole .net is messed up….but when i am logged out it all looks fine,
    its just when i sign in that its all messed up. I can’t do anything with it at all,
    however it was working at first when i signed up a couple days ago, but since then its not.

You can customize the size to whatever you want. The displays on my blog are 12×24. They were created to fit the beautiful wooden calendar holders you can purchase from the craft stores.

    We just released our standard version of Heritage Collector last night. This version is free and always will be. It helps you organize your photos and graphics. I will have a permanent link on my blog to this download. From downloading our standard version, you can then purchase the Storybook module if you choose.
    I have had people that are experienced with photoshop tell me how easy it is to create a page with our software!

    I will have the link to our free standard version up on my blog within the next day or so.
